Bob Stoops Steps In IT

Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops recently stepped in it by saying the SEC really wasn’t that great of a conference even though it has produced the National Champion the last seven years. Here is what the infinitely wise coach said:

Listen, they’ve had the best team in college football, meaning they’ve won the national championship. That doesn’t mean everything else is always the best.

So they’ve had the best team in college football. They haven’t had the whole conference. Because, again, half of ’em haven’t done much at all. I’m just asking you. You tell me.

OK Bob, we will. Remember the Cotton Bowl back in January? Your Sooners played Texas A&M University and got beat 41-13. A&M was probably the 4th best team in the SEC last year. Do you think maybe, just maybe if the fourth best team can put a whooping on your team that you might keep your mouth shut about the strength of the SEC?

Just so we are clear, let’s review:

In case you didn’t see the score, it was 41-13. There is no moral victory for you in losing to the fourth-best team of the SEC. Good luck Bob!

I really loved watching that video again. It reminded me that college football is only three and half months away!
